Microsoft’s Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 may debut later this month, according to a new report. The tech giant is rumored to be developing the first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered PC that can be integrated with the AI features expected to launch in Windows 11 later this year. It is said that Microsoft PC will be equipped with Intel’s latest 14th generation chipset and Qualcomm X series chipset. They are also expected to feature next-generation neural processing units (NPUs).
Windows Central reports that the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 may launch on March 21, citing unnamed sources. According to reports, Microsoft’s first AI PC will also be equipped with the new Intel Core Ultra and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite. Chip based. If true, this would be the first time Microsoft has launched a Surface laptop with both Intel and Arm processor options.
While not much is known about the upcoming laptop, the report mentions some of its key specifications. Microsoft Surface Pro 10 may feature an anti-reflective and brighter OLED panel with support for HDR content. It is also said to feature a new webcam with an ultra-wide sensor. The webcam can be enhanced with AI Studio Effects and a built-in NFC reader launching later this year. Its design is likely to remain consistent with its predecessor.
Surface Laptop 6, on the other hand, may get some design upgrades. It reportedly has thinner display bezels, rounded corners, and a new tactile touchpad. In addition, Microsoft announced last year that it would equip Windows laptops with dedicated Copilot keys, and laptops are expected to be equipped with this feature as well. The Laptop 6 is also said to bring a new set of ports, including two USB Type-C ports and a USB Type-A port on the left side, and a magnetic Surface Connect charger can be placed on the right side.
Beyond that, battery life and performance could be improved on both devices. The report claims that Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 may be available in the market in two batches. The first one is likely to be in April and will only include models powered by Intel chips, while Arm models may be available later in June.
