Sucker Punch’s director’s cut of open-world action-adventure Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PC, continuing the trend of first-party PlayStation games being released on Windows. The game will launch on May 16th and comes with the expected suite of PC features. As expected, the port is being handled by veterans Nixxes Software, a Sony-owned studio that has previously developed PC port remakes of first-party PlayStation games like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: crack”.
Nixxes announced the news on the PlayStation Blog on Wednesday, adding that the studio has been working on the port for the past year. The Director’s Cut of the game will include the full game, the Iki Island expansion pack, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode.
The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima will receive platform-specific features such as unlocked frame rates, a full range of graphics settings and presets, and customizable mouse and keyboard controls. Nixxes also confirmed ultrawide monitor support, with the game fully optimized for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions, and an over-the-top 48:9 resolution for triple-monitor setups.
In addition, the “Ghost of Tsushima” Director’s Cut will also be helped by performance-enhancing technologies such as Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3 and Intel XeSS, and will feature AI upgrades and frame generation options. Users with high-end hardware can also choose to use Nvidia DLAA or FSR 3 Native AA to further improve image quality.
The PC port of the game also promises broad controller support, but the PlayStation DualSense controller will bring even more immersion with haptic feedback and adaptive triggering.
Ghost of Tsushima was released on PS4 in 2020 as a PlayStation exclusive. A director’s cut of the game, including the Iki Island Story expansion, launches in 2021 on PS5 and PS4. The game is set during the first Mongolian invasion of Japan. Players play Jin Sakai, a samurai on the road to revenge.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is currently available for pre-order on Steam and Epic Games Store, priced at Rs 100. 3,999. When the game launches on May 16, pre-ordering will unlock new in-game items in the Baku store + in-game items such as horses, traveler outfits, and armor-breaking dyes.
Nixxes is also planning to release a PC port of PlayStation-exclusive Horizon: Forbidden West, with the full version of the game set to be released on March 21. The studio released a detailed list of the game’s PC system requirements this week, confirming the graphics requirements The game will require at least 16GB of RAM to run on PC.
