Uber has named a new head of human resources. Her appointment comes nearly three months after the controversial departure of her previous HR chief.
The company announced on Tuesday that Nikki Krishnamurthy will replace Liane Hornsey, who resigned on July 7 following an internal investigation into her handling of accusations of racial discrimination within the company. I left Uber at the beginning of the month.
Krishnamurthy comes from Expedia, where he served as chief people officer. She works with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. Before joining Uber last August, Khosrowshahi led Expedia for a decade.
In a statement, Khosrowshahi called Krishnamurti a “trusted partner” who would help “grow our culture.”
The move marks another key hire under Khosrowshahi, who has been tasked with cleaning up the company’s corporate culture.
Uber faced a series of scandals, including widespread gender and sexual harassment allegations, that led to co-founder Travis Kalanick’s resignation as CEO in June 2017.
Krishnamurthy, whose title is chief people officer, will oversee Uber’s human resources, recruiting, workplace and diversity and inclusion teams. She starts on October 8th.
