The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is expected to debut in India and other global markets next week. Ahead of the launch, a new leak has surfaced online, sharing hands-on images of the smartphone, hinting at its design and one of its color options. Previous reports claimed that the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A54 may feature an Exynos 1480 chipset, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It is also said to feature a triple rear camera unit with a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
The leaked image was posted by tipster @theonecid on X (formerly Twitter) postal. The photos confirm previously leaked renders and rumored design changes. The yellow color scheme and flat sides can be seen on the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, and the surface looks soft. This could be because the smartphone is rumored to have a metal frame, marking an upgrade from its predecessor’s plastic bezels.
Other highlights include the Korean tech giant’s new key island design element, which adds a raised edge to the right side of the phone where the power and volume buttons are. The back panel shows a triple rear camera setup similar to the Galaxy S24 series.
Reports suggest that the smartphone will be launched in India on March 11 at 2:30 pm along with the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G. A teaser for the upcoming launch was spotted on the Samsung Store app, which didn’t reveal the name of the phone but shared some details that match the leaked ones.
According to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is said to feature a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) AMOLED display. It is said to be powered by Exynos 1480 SoC, with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants and 128GB and 256GB inbuilt storage options. For the optics, it is likely to feature a triple rear camera unit with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). Details on the other two cameras are unclear. It could sport a 32-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calling.
